George W. Bush Presidential Library Receives First Document: The Pet Goat

bush_goat2.jpg(Dallas, TX) The George W. Bush Presidential Library will be located on the campus of Southern Methodist University in the president friendly city of Dallas, Texas. Although it will be 2009 before any ground is broken, the library has already received its first document donation.

“We got a sticky copy of The Pet Goat,” said Bush Presidential Librarian William Meyers. “It came in the mail with a note saying: So you never forget what you did, F.O. Well, I’d like to let Mr. O know, that the President and I appreciate his donation, we will not forget how brave he (the President) was that day.

The Pet Goat, sometimes mistakenly called My Pet Goat, was the book President Bush was reading with a class at Emma E. Booker Elementary School, when he was informed about the 9/11 attacks.

Critics have denounced Bush for staying seated for seven minutes after being told about the planes crashing into the World Trade Center. They say he was frozen with fear, didn’t care that a Blue state was being attacked, or just forgot to raise his hand to leave. Bush claims that critics are all wrong.

“I wanted to finish the book. I had to finish the book,” said the President. “I had to find out what happened to that little goat. And I don’t mean to spoil the ending for those who haven’t read it, but the goat becomes a hero. And that’s what inspired me to become a hero for the Iraqi people….Oh, and the American people too.”

Bush added that he’s as pleased as punch to have the book in his library, because not only is it his favorite book but also it’s the only book he has ever read cover to cover.
